Saint-Ouen, France Gymnasium Named in Honor of Tommie Smith

December 4, 2004, Tommie Smith was in France, to inaugurate the first place in the world to bear its name: the gymnasium of the college Michelet (Saint-Ouen, 93) became the Gymnasium Tommie Smith.

"I sought, for the name of the gymnasium, a man or a woman obviously known in the sporting medium but which carried also strong humanistic values.
